How to Reuse a Styrofoam Cup!

An Earth Day Activity

Mr. Sty R. Foam

So I am one of those people who think twice when I’m handed a Styrofoam cup or plate.  I will do anything to avoid using one.  A vision of it still sitting in the landfill when my great-grandchildren are here goes through my head!

But if you are handed a foam cup (or use them), reuse it as a fun craft activity for your kids (or you!)!

Just take the foam cup and decorate the front to look like a face (you can keep it simple and use a marker, or go wild and get the glue and arts and crafts bin out!).  Fill ½ way with dirt or potting soil.  Then sprinkle some grass seed (or any flower you would like to grow).  Sprinkle with a little more soil to cover the seeds.  Then water and your grass hair should be growing within a few days!  Your child (depending on age – you may have to do it for them) will enjoy cutting their new pals hair and watching it grow again!
