I recently had the opportunity to eat at the new Northland location of SPIN! Pizza for their Sunday Kids Eat Free program.
SPIN! was awarded Best Gluten-Free Menu in KC by "The Pitch" and also offers dairy-free cheese for those with special dietary needs. They are known for an award-winning hand-spun stone-fired pizza, fresh salads with homemade dressings, and a unique atmosphere that appeals to both adults and kids.
Kids can now eat for free all day on Sundays at local SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza locations! Guests can get one free Bambini (kids) meal for each 12-inch pizza, large salad or Mini Mia personal size pizza and salad meal ordered. You can order multiples of one item – such as two 12-inch pizzas – or a combination of the items. With each 12-inch pizza, large salad, or Mini Mia ordered, one child eats for free! Kids aged 12 and under can order either a free kid-sized cheese or pepperoni pizza or macaroni and cheese along with a mini gelato ice cream and their choice or milk, apple juice, or soft drink. SPIN! Pizza’s authentic gelato ice cream is made from hormone-free dairy in small batches with real fruits and nuts.
We selected three pizzas for our dinner: BBQ Di Pollo & Pineapple, Goat Cheese & Fresh Arugula, and SPIN! Margherita and then for the kids, the special kid-sized cheese pizzas with portabello topping (one of which had a gluten-free crust and dairy-free cheese known as daiya). We received our food rather quickly, and the service was attentive. I thought the pizza crust was perfect for my tastes -- not too thin and not too thick, just right. In addition to their amazing gourmet pizzas, we enjoyed the Roasted Eggplant Parmigiana, which is baked, not fried! We also tried the Stuffed Mondo Pork Meatball filled with melted Crescenza cheese that oozes out when you cut into it as well as their gelato (Italian ice cream), which is really good! The gelato flavors are varied and some get changed out from time to time. Since my child is a pizza fiend who loves anything in and around the neighborhood of ice cream and there are even more menu options that appeal to my taste buds, I'm sure we'll be making a return visit soon.
