Longtime fans of B&B Theatres, we finally took the plunge and tried their Screen PLAY experience—and it did not disappoint! This unique, interactive movie adventure is tailor-made for families with younger kids, and after seeing so many moms in Facebook groups raving about it, we knew it was time to check it out for ourselves. Spoiler alert: we absolutely loved it!
Tickets were provided to us for the purpose of this review, but all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.
Here’s why Screen PLAY should be on your family’s must-try list:
1️⃣ Smooth Transitions for Kids
One of the standout features of Screen PLAY is how thoughtfully it’s designed to ease kids from playtime to movie-watching mode. A countdown on the screen during playtime ensures kids know when it’s time to take their seats, and the staff makes the transition super kid-friendly with a fun announcement.
2️⃣ Small, Well-Managed Theaters
The theater size is cozy and intimate, which means fewer people and less potential chaos. The entire experience felt stress-free, with everything running smoothly—perfect for parents looking to relax a little.
3️⃣ Perfect Play Structure
The play area is small enough for parents to keep an eye on their kids without feeling the need to hover. It’s a chance to actually sit back and enjoy yourself, especially if your kids are school-aged and independent.
4️⃣ Fun for the Kids
My daughter was over the moon—her favorite part? Getting to take her shoes off in the theater! It’s the little things that make this experience feel so special for kids.
5️⃣ Great for All Ages
I sat near a 3-year-old and his mom, and he transitioned beautifully from playtime to movie-watching, even sitting through the entire film with just one quick potty break. It’s clear this setup works for a variety of ages, from toddlers to school-aged kids.
6️⃣ Affordable Entertainment
The price is very reasonable for a few hours of entertainment, especially during these cold winter months when indoor activities are a lifesaver.
7️⃣ Stress-Free Outing
When my daughter was younger, I’d walk into movie theaters thinking, If she gets antsy and we have to leave, no big deal. But with Screen PLAY’s thoughtful setup, even younger kids are engaged and entertained. It’s truly a win-win for both parents and kids.
Whether you’re looking for a fun weekend outing or a last-minute experience gift, I highly recommend giving Screen PLAY a try. It’s available at B&B Theatres Overland Park 16 and B&B Theatres Shawnee 18, and tickets are just a click away (check the link in my bio for details).
Screen PLAY isn’t just a movie—it’s a family-friendly adventure you’ll all enjoy. Trust me, you’ll leave with happy kids and zero regrets.
